The principles of Design

Principles of Design- helps artists organize shapes, lines, forms, and colors to communicate effectively.



Balance- The visual weight of an artwork feel equally distributed



Symmety- Its the same thing if u draw a line down it.



Approximately symmetrical-almost symmetrical



Asymetry- oppisite of symmetry



Radial- If u draw a line anywhere it will be the same on the right and the left



Emphasis- when one element in an artwork appears to be more important or attract the most attention, we say it creates empahasis, and the three types of emphasis placement, contrast, and grouping.



Rythem and movement-how the artist guides the viewer through a work of art

Leading lines





Proportion- size relationships parts to one another or the whole but in the piece of art.

forms-



Unity- a feeling that all the element



Variety- is achieved by introducing some differences into pictures to increase visual difference
