Art in a new perpective.

All of these projects that we are doing, all seem to connect to each other in some small way. Pouring the paint seemed very strange at first but later you had to just completly lose all your sense of right or wrong and just pour. With describing, you basically had to paint a mental picture using words for a partner to deciever. Then with the collaborative drawings you had to picture what this person wanted and draw it for them almost like you had known them for years. Then with the mapping of the still life you had to basically do the same thing as the describing painting but backwards, this time you had to draw something for someone to deciever. All of these projects seem to bring you together with someone, to share your ideas. This was a very enjoyable week because it made me look at art in a new light.

Re-visiting observation/description

Her coloring of the ground had a certain resemblance to the carpet in my famous painting. She missed the doors and the little girl, but she also probably missed these because my description was not as helpful as it could have been. If i were to do this again i would be more descriptive.

Pouring

Creating art by pouring paint was one of the more interesting experiences i have had in art, it was very fun and creative to mix and pour paint and see what you could create. It felt almost relieving to not know what you would create, kind of like a mystery that was about to be solved.

Collaborative Drawing

Today we made a collaborative drawing with the entire class.
Having someone work on my work of art, helped put together an unfinished product, there were somethings people think of that i would not. I liked most things people did to my picture, like paint in lines or add certain things. Also, there were some additions i was not as happy with, like deleting one of my original drawing that really set up the picture. Overall though i thought this class was very productive.

Art

An artist is someone who expresses what they are thinking, feeling, and what ever they want because it is their art.

What it means to be creative is to express yourself and what your thinking.

All someone needs to be creative is their brain, a piece of paper, or other material to do with art, and then their hands.

Attributed to an Amasis Painter
First Impression:
This oil flask reminds me of my 3 years of taking Latin at my old school.
What I've learned:
I've learned one of the most important jobs a woman had back then was preparing wool and weaving clothing.
